Constitution making process should be people-driven

Zimbabwe is entering a phase of constitutional making; the spirit is already there it should only be translated into action. A constitution is a sacred document that unites the nation and directs the national vision among other things.  more

New Zimbabwe Constitution should be owned by all

Zimbabwe is entering a phase of constitutional making; the spirit is already there it should only be translated into action. A constitution is a sacred document that unites the nation and directs the national vision among other things. This document should be respected and owned by all sundry, it is a document unlike in electoral processes that should never be contested as it should be a shared document.  more

ZIMDEN would like to offer our condolences to the Tsvangirayi family and the people of Zimbabwe. The death of Susan Tsvangirayi has came as a shock for most of the Zimbabweans living in Diaspora who has known her personally, as a mother , pillar of the MDC and also her good work in the community.  more

Caroline Graham article: Charles Davy

I can verify the accusation of racism brought to light in this article. My husband and I worked for Chifuti Safaris in the Sapi wildlife area of Zimbabwe, running a fishing camp on the Zambezi river.  more

Plant food now

Fine effort, congrats. Very sad, what is happening. My wife was born in Zim, and I visited twice, hitched across, grand people.

A couple of suggestions that may help some people a little. The greatest resource in this crisis is the people who are in dire straits, and their ability o help themselves, such as it is. The outside world is rather uncaring.

Mugabe cannot stop the winds of change

The 2000 parliamentry elections in Zimbabwe saw the first waves of change as the opposition took 57 seats mainly urban parliamentary seats.

The urban voters who were experiencing the economic pinch flashed the red card to Mugabe’s party. Zanu Pf managed to win the rural voters through intimidation and politics of the stomach. Mugabe used donations from the west to woo the voters back into his fold and threatened the rural voters with a second Chimurenga war if they dared ditch his party for the opposition.

Zimbabwe, a State in a coma

ZIMBABWE is like a patient in a coma with no doctor in attendance or a ship without a captain. As the economy crumbles with virtually no economic policy in place to rescue it, all we witness is selfishness in a geriatric clinging on to power at all costs.

Zimbabwe needs action from the international community before it grounds to a halt. The quiet diplomacy by Thabo Mbeki of South Africa only buys time for Mugabe to further destroy the once vibrant economy.

My father is innocent; Advocate Matinenga's daughter

My name is Tafadzwa Matinenga and I am daughter of Advocate Eric Matinenga

I would like to thank you for running the story on my dad, Advocate Eric Matinenga regarding his arrest in Zimbabwe. I would like to reiterate that the allegations that have been brought against my father are false allegations, allegations which the judge has dismissed but the Zimbabwean police decide to disregard the judges court orders by rearresting him and keeping him detained in contempt of court.

Mugabe must go!

I just want to say that I think Mugabe has to go. He does not care in any way for his people and the country, but only for himself. No real leader will do what he do, to stay in power. Maybe he and Thabo Mbeki tought one another, because both of them are no leaders in any way, they only care for themselves. That is the reason why both their contries are what they are today. Mugabe you must go and give your so called people a chance in life, because under Mugabe they don’t have any chance.

Disgraceful China and South Africa

The disgraceful actions of South Africa and China in preventing the UN security council from discussing the reign of terror taking place in Zimbabwe should not be overlooked.

On its part China is acting on the belief that Zanu PF will win the election and give them special consideration when it comes to selling off Zimbabwe's natural resources. Recognising the present greed and corruption of Mugabe's sidekicks they will be only too willing to sell off the nations resources in order to fill their already heavily lined pockets despite the poverty of the Zimbabwean people

Xenophobia learnt from Zimbabwe

Why this huge uproar about the RSA xenophobia, when we’ve lived with it for 9 years in Zimbabwe?

The act of xenophobia has been practiced against a white minority farming group since 2000.

It’s time we had a hard long look at ourselves & the full reality of where we are.

SADC statement a lie

Dear Sirs/Mesdames,

Have you noticed that the SADC statement is a lie, and that they claim that “both opposition candidates “ agree that the elections in Zim were free and fair.

Sine this is contrary to what the MDC has repeatedly said, either the SADC are deliberately falsifying what they say or are totally ignoring them in order to protect Mugabe.
